The time has come....

....to put myself into the virtual world. This is my first post on BOBservations (cleverly titled in a manner foreshadowing the theme of this blog) and the only thing I am bobserving right now is that I suck at websites. As some of my future readers will note, I refuse to partake in the "myspace" or "facebook" craze because of my fear that in the future we will all be rounded up and exterminated through these mediums. My theory is that "announcements" (most likely started by mutants) will be passed on to you by any number of your ever growing list of friends. These instructions will brainwash you and tell you to meet at X place at X time with your birth certificates. When the country is in flames and all of you are in a single file line getting your new "brain chip" implanted, I will be safely trying to IM you on AIM version 2.0.

Returning to the subject of my most recent entrance into the virtual world, one will note that I have a history of arriving very late to the modern technology party. I did not start using a cell phone until my junior year of college (2004), and I hold the dubious distinction of being the last person in a dorm room/frat house setting with an old school answering machine that had a cassette tape that had to be rewound. That same year I discovered AIM (3 years after everybody else), and owned my very first PC (8 years after everyone else).

Anyways, for fear of appearing long winded on my very first blog entry (which could deter dozens of my possible future readers), I will end with the promise that I will update my "living scenario" in future blogs to inform long lost friends of my general well being.

P.S. look for more exciting uses of the word BOB in such contexts as "BOBstotrician, BOBservatory, BOBlong, BOBi one KonoBOBi, BOBtuse, and BOBsolete."
